 | Getting rid of mice is hard. I know the hard way. After 3 years of having mice running around my house and trying one trick after the next, I was done. Literally done! The mice had eaten through my boxes of cereal, scared away my daughter's friends and led me to a level of "crazy" that I never thought existed inside of me before. How to Get Rid of Mice Anyway, to make a long story short, I have finally figured out how to get rid of mice in my house. It wasn't easy, but here are my tips. 1) Go for rice, not cheese Those of us who watch cartoons instantly think that all mice love cheese. You know what they love more than cheese? Rice. Yes, the mice in my home loved rice in mouse traps. It made catching them so much easier than before. So, if you have mice traps, feed the mice rice instead of cheese. 2) Close up holes in your cabinets The biggest issue with me was that I had an older house that was more prone to mice. Unfortunately, this meant that my cabinets had a few holes in them. Once I closed up these holes, it was harder for them to get in and steal my food. Therefore, they had to find other places. 3) Ammonia to get rid of mice I know this sounds weird, but spraying ammonia in areas where mice frequent really helped me get rid of mice for good.
